In the same way that a stone slowly becomes shaped and worn by the sea, the craftsman had to patiently carve and then smooth this bench into its incredibly realistic ‘pebble’ shape. There is no measuring instrument that can aid a craftsman in this task; it is purely down to the two natural senses of sight and touch.
