About us

ESTABLISHED MORE THAN 35 YEARS AGO, SILVERLINING IS PROUD TO BE RECOGNISED AS ONE OF FURNITURE MAKING’S LEADING NAMES.

Today, we are still led by our founder Mark Boddington, a scion of the famous brewing family who opted out of the beer business in favour of a life at the bench and drawing board.

Our 70-strong team of designers, makers, project managers and other specialists are based in Wrexham in North Wales. A base from where we create museum-quality furniture that finds its ways to palaces, galleries, corporate headquarters, homes, yachts and private jets around the world.

What unites us all is our passion for bringing together creativity with the highest levels of craftsmanship. We seek out the finest materials – from rare woods and exquisite leathers to precious metals – and draw on the best of old and new techniques to conjure them into extraordinary pieces of furniture. We call it ‘making magic’.

Mark Boddington

I started Silverlining over 35 years ago because I wanted to create furniture that is unlike anything else. I’m still inspired by that idea and love sharing the making journey with our clients as part of a hugely talented and ever-growing team.

I lead our design team which sits squarely between our clients and our makers. I love pushing the boundaries of what’s possible and I’m always aware that this is why people come to us in the first place.

Whether I’m in the US or Europe, the thing I most enjoy about my role in business development is that our relationships with clients often go back a generation or more – in this industry, that says a lot.

A key part of my project liaison role is making sure everyone is in the loop when it comes to things like deadlines, specifications and costs. That communication is the key to smoothly run projects and happy clients.
