The successful estimator will work as part of a small team and be responsible for estimating bespoke furniture and artwork wall panels.


You will work closely and directly with our cabinet makers and project managers to estimate pieces provided by both external clients and our in-house design team.

The role is based at our Wrexham Workshop.


About the role:
• Conduct handover meetings with project managers to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with the estimated concept and to budget.
• Provide support to business development, sales, design and project managers from enquiry through to installation.
• Accurate assessment of the material quantities, processes and labour required to construct furniture.
• Understanding and interpreting drawings (2D and 3D CAD models, renderings, visuals and sketches).
• Produce written technical specifications and pricing documents.
• Revise quotations in response to design alterations and variations to contracts.
• Confident approach to question design intent to enable best manufacturing methods.
• Continuous interaction with our makers and design teams to advance estimating skills and knowledge.
• Undertake technical drawing work when required.
• Research new materials and suppliers when needed.
• Assist the PM team including quality control.
• Placing of orders and management of suppliers.

Technical Experience:
• This role would suit an experienced cabinet maker looking to use their making knowledge and skills to transition into an estimating role.

• Full training can be given in estimating.
• The individual will have excellent in-depth knowledge of bespoke furniture making and an ability to understand and interpret technical drawings.
• Ideally with Auto CAD and Rhino experience although not essential as this can be developed in the role.

Personal Skills:
• Over 5 years’ experience within fine furniture making.
• Self-motivated with strong organisational skills and a methodical approach to prioritising and organising work, demonstrating the ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to effectively prioritise workload from a variety of different sources.
• Excellent attention to detail is paramount and quality control is essential.
• High level of IT literacy particularly Excel.
• Following and adhering to working practices particularly regarding health and safety.
• Ability to build and maintain effective, strong, and professional working relationships with others at all levels.
• Excellent communication skills with internal stakeholders.
• Co-operate, liaise with and support team members to assist in achieving departmental goals whilst continually improving technical knowledge and experience.
• Proactively contribute ideas for improving practices and efficiency.

• Permanent, full-time position. Monday to Friday 8am – 16:15 (37.5-hour week).
