Cosmic Compass
Cosmic Compass reflects on our place and time in the universe and the Earth, with the multitude of its gold bronze lines interpreting the interconnectedness of everything.
Its intricate patterns have been expertly engineered through multi-layered digital programming and complex laser micro-etching. The resulting series of varying scale Archimedes spirals, circlets, and circles are spellbinding, filled with gold bronze and skilfully polished by hand, revealing the strobe-like surface.
The aesthetic of the design references the glamour of the Art Deco period, using gold bronze, mother of pearl, and high gloss mirror-finished walnut.
Materials: Walnut burr, mother of pearl shell and gold bronze.
Finish: Hand burnished high gloss lacquer and clear waxed.
