The pattern is inspired by starling murmuration’s, a mesmerising aerial display performed by large flocks, numbering in the thousands, moving in unison, creating captivating patterns in the sky as they twist, turn, and merge into one another.
Multiple marquetry layers of dyed veneers are pierced using CNC technology to create a pattern that mimics the movement seen in murmuration’s.
The pattern is applied to the front of a residential bar and combined with surrounding darker materials and finishes to compliment the layers and colours exposed in the 3d texture.
Materials: White Birdseye maple top veneer, 6 further layers of dyed veneer and resin.
Finish: Open grain lacquer.
