The pattern rolls inward spirally mimicking patterns found in shell structures or the arrangement of petals in a flower head.
The substrate is carved taking material away, wrapped in leather and the leather is then worked by hand into the form beneath. Secondary texture and markings are applied by hand.
The hand-worked lines and subtle textures interrupt broad expanses of surface, creating patterns that suggest motion and fluidity. The result is a subtle, tactile quality that would enrich a headboard with both depth and visual movement.
