Using exclusively British-grown oak in natural, fumed, and iron-dyed finishes, this innovative piece celebrates both native timber heritage and historical finishing methods that deepen the grain while preserving the wood's essential character. A micro-CNC carved texture, generated through parametric design in Grasshopper, undulates across the surface in alternating directions, creating a rippling optical effect that shifts as the viewer moves- reminiscent of wind across water. This quiet yet dynamic study invites both movement and contemplation, revealing how advanced geometry and traditional materials can create entirely new sensory experiences.
