Traditional Techniques Re-interpreted

Straw Glacier

'Straw Glacier' explores the iridescent and translucent qualities of cobalt blue straw marquetry.

The technique first seen in the Far East in the 16th Century is historically found on flat surfaces with the straw unfinished.

Silverlining has taken the technique to a new height by covering complex shapes and finishing with mirror polished gloss lacquer.
