LUMEN SIDE TABLE
The Lumen Side Table explores light as material, marking its passage rather than resisting it. Designed for the Layers in Time collection, the table's pebble-shaped resin top holds a central clear window that acts as a lens, drawing daylight through the piece and casting shifting shadows onto the surface beneath.
Eight tones of hand-laid, endgrain French wheat straw radiate outward from the window in reds, golds, ochres and browns, cast in crystal-clear epoxy resin, a technique refined over several years to overcome the material's natural resistance to full saturation. Three oversized legs, hand-turned in solid English oak and finished with individually hand chip-carved detailing, ground the piece with a bold, sculptural stance.
