VALLEY GLACIER BAR
A Studio SL design capturing glacial movement through material contrast. The bar features white-oiled, hand-textured oak as its foundation, the visible grain and pale finish evoking the rugged terrain shaped by ice over millennia.
Embedded within the oak are sculpted, flowing forms of dyed straw cast in satin-finished resin. These elements create layered, dappled light effects that shift and deepen as they catch the eye, mimicking the sinuous lines and surface undulations of a valley glacier carving its path through the landscape.
The design suspends the motion and weight of ice in material form—a tactile exploration of natural forces translated into furniture. The piece demonstrates Studio SL's approach to transforming elemental inspiration into sculptural function.
